Song of the Week #6 - David Ford "Cheer Up (You Miserable F---)"
From David's debut in 2006, I Sincerely Apologise for All the Trouble I've Caused (and yes, he's English and that's the correct way to spell apologise lol), which is stunning as a whole. This is one of the gems of the album, but coupled with experiencing the live performance of it - brilliant! He does both solo shows and full band shows, this clip is from an in-store performance in which he uses looping technology to play an instrument live - record it, and then loop it while he moves on to something else until he's got a full soundscape of guitar, piano, percussion, backing harmony vocals, etc. behind him. It's brilliant!

Also check out some really great official videos of great tracks (one new, one from the debut) - he definitely comes up with original ways to portray his songs on video - both of the ones below are highly recommended as well!

BTW - in the first video he drops an f-bomb adjective in the 2nd verse.

Around the 4:45 mark is a chill moment - stunning. What sets apart a true performer from American Idol rubbish is the degree of pain or joy they can make you feel through their performance. You feel his pain, you can't help but feel it.

Blown away again
I just saw this for the first time - a live version of "Go To Hell" with multi-layered harmonies and an extremely passionate vocal - absolutely amazing!
