Song of the Week #4 - Jeff Healey "See the Light" Live
Is it that time already? Well, we've got a bonus cut coming at the end of the week, so this one is a bit early in the week.

Jeff Healey passed away a couple of weeks ago. Most know him as the guy who sang "Angel Eyes" and maybe you remember the cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," but this amazing, soulful guitarist has been tearing it up for years under the radar as well. As one of the best guitarists ever to walk the earth, let alone being blind since the age of 1, he brought passion, soul, emotion, and could make a guitar sing like few others.

Check out this blistering live version of "See the Light," the title track from his debut release (this version with Dr. John tickling the ivories).

Around the 3:30 mark his guitar work is emotional and gorgeous. 30 seconds later he's stompin' around the stage like a man possessed. A little showmanship tossed in as well.

Enjoy the magic of Jeff Healey (not with his usual band this time around).

HELL Yeah!
That was freakin' AWESOME. Jeff was such an amazing player. What a terrible loss. If you liked that, check out "When a Blind Man Cries" on Ian Gillan's last solo album, Gillan's Inn. For obvious reasons, he kind of tears into that one.
And how about the bass player and drummer in that video...SICK!

Jeff Healey
Jeff was a master of his art. He'll definitely be missed but his music and performances will live on.
